Dear Students,
I have been selected for grand jury duty. In NYC,
grand jury duty lasts for 20 days, so I will likely be out of school
for the rest of November.
Just like paying taxes, it is every citizen's obligation to serve jury duty.
Most adults get called approximately every 7 years, but it's up to
chance whether or not they end up getting selected to serve and for how
long.
I'm thankful to be working this semester with such an exceptional
cooperating teacher. Ms. Dondero will be continuing with or taking over
all classes, so I'm sure that your experience will be uninterrupted.
I am still available for questions via email, and I look forward to being back in class soon.
Best,
Mr. DiSanto

Dear Students,
Firstly, I hope that you are all safe and experiencing as little inconvenience as possible as a result of this terrible storm.
As you probably already know, classes have been suspended, and school will resume on Monday, November 5.
Secondly, I want to be sure to provide you with the chance to continue learning during the time that school is closed, but I also do not want put anyone who is without resources at a disadvantage during these trying times.
So, in deference to those of us who are without access to power and the internet, the following assignment will be OPTIONAL. It will definitely count towards boosting your grade if you do it, but I will not take away points for those who are unable to complete the assignment.
A Castle Learning assignment called "Español 1: Repaso # 2" will be available starting immediately and it will close on November 5 @ 11:59pm, making it the last opportunity to earn extra points for TERM 1.
For additional practice, I recommend watching and reading NY1 Noticias -- there are several broadcasts that are available both in Spanish and English, both in print and in video.
There are also a variety of additional practice websites available through our class blog.
Best wishes to all who are going through tough times, and I look forward to seeing all of you when school is open again.
Un saludo cordial,
Mr. DiSanto
